City East
Bethnal Green is located in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets in the heart of London's east end, just over three miles from Charing Cross station, or a ten-minute train ride from Liverpool Street station.
Famous as being the home for the V & A or the Victoria and Albert Museum, also known as Bethnal Green Museum, it was founded in 1872,and focused on the needs of children. It eventually became known as a specialist museum for children, and has the largest collection of childhood objects in the UK, including toys, childhood equipment, and costumes.
In recent times, Bethnal Green has seen wide improvements in its local economy, much aided by the prospects of the forthcoming Olympics, and the area has witnessed significant house price increases. Not ever having been recognised as an area of any great affluence, the whole area has seen changes for the better, and with its close proximity to the heart of London, and its financial centre, it is now very much worth looking at should you be considering a trip to London.
These days, one of the most fashionable places to stay is in one of the many serviced apartments, which allow you the freedom to come and go whilst experiencing life in the centre of a society that is proud of its East End customs and traditions.
